Week 5 Recap

We're not five weeks in and it's close to panic time for some teams, while two teams are sitting pretty at 4-1.

The first place team, in both points and record stays at the top for one more week after taking down James, who's luck looks like it's finally starting to run out.  Hill was actually unlucky and still managed to get a good point total.  For some reason he started Brian Hoyer, and I don't think 15-18 points was unrealistic there, but he went down, and took Came'-ron down with him.  But every one else on his team came through, especially Dezmond Bryant, Ray Rice and Hakeem Nicks.  Nicks I thought might have given up, but I think his agent reminded him it's a contract year.

What you see in James' lineup will remain James' lineup pending byes.  No pickups, no trades, no comments, just plug, play, repeat.  It's kind a dead spot in the league right now.  He's 3-2 by luck, and is the only team not to crack 700 points yet.  It's a shame that he chooses not to participate in the Greatest League In The World.  Consider this public shaming your punishment sir.

Joe's hit or miss bunch was a miss this week, paving the way for Bry to stroll to an easy win and a 4-1 record.  This puts Bry, who is third in overall points, into 2nd place at 4-1.  He can pretty much thank Rony Tomo and his 50-point effort because no one else really did anything.  Kid has no QB, his WR's were hurt by Garcon's bye, not sure what's going on with Sproles, and he wins no problem.  Charmed life this kid is living.

The On-Paper All-Stars aka The Holo What? couldn't get going this week.  Just wait till next week though, because they're due for another 200 point effort.

I know I lament my luck in this league but Brown is right there with me.  My points against: 934.35.  Browns: 915.24.  The next closest: 797.61.  That's over 20 points more per week getting scored against Brown and myself than everyone else.  And while Brown had no shot this week, it still is worth noting that he's in the same hell as the commish.  I'm sure he's noticed.

Lace Face (owned by Hill or Matt/Sean.....) had another great week with the Eagles, Rams, Browns and Chargers all having good matchups.  Things will get a little more difficult with Julio out, and Matt Ryan losing his two top weapons (Roddy got hurt too), but they have depth at WR and Jackson is playing like a #1 anyway.  #2 in points in the league and should easily make the playoffs still.

This is the kind of match that Brown and I look at and say, why can't that happen to us?  One time please?  Scott out Mintz'd Mintz for the win.  It's lunch time and this match sucked, so I'm going to just move on...

Speaking of sucking.  Megatron is out?  No problem, here comes the TY Hilton breakout.  And he starts a player on the Jags and gets rewarded?  How does that happen?  Oh well, that's what happens I guess.  Would've been nice if Peyton Manning had a D. Thomas game instead of a J. Thomas game.  It's a big win for Hemrick to get him back in the points race and playoff race.
