Transaction Analysis

We have a trade to announce:

To Bry: Steve Smith and David Wilson
To Brown: Julien Edelmen and Fred Jackson

This is basically a trade of high upside but high risk vs. steady production and low risk.  Brown gets Edelman, who even with Amendola back, should still be a big part of the Pats offense.  He won't make big plays, but we know he's good for 5-8 catches.  Same with Fred Jackson.  He's getting about half the work when Spiller is healthy and is producing better than Spiller.  Jackson does come with a little risk, because Spiller is more talented and younger.  If Spiller starts playing well, Jackson could see his touches reduced dramatically.

Bry trades in the 5-8 catches for 50-70 yards from Edelman for the potential big play from Steve Smith.  He's a beast, but he's old and his QB isn't playing that well.  But there's always the chance Smith catches an 80 yard TD, taking the ball away from two defenders.

Wilson is interesting b/c with the Giants sucking a dick, there's no reason to worry about his fumbles anymore.  They might as well play him and see what they really have.  If he's as talented as we all think, Bry might have gotten a steal here.  Or he may never produce behind a battered O-line.  But I think it's a gamble worth taking for Bry, who can't stop tinkering with his team.

Solid trade all around.  Good luck to both of you....I hope they all get injured.
