Season Is Under Way!

I will have a full recap by the end of the weekend (shooting for Monday) but just wanted to thank everyone for their participation.

Chris Hill was a most gracious host, allowing us to rearrange his entire house.  Thanks Chris.

Jimbo took one for the team and manned the big board again, because, well, he's the best at it.  Thanks James.

Matt, Bry, Scott made a trip that takes more than hour so your dedication is appreciated as well.

Joe Ferencz came through with some fancy meats and cheeses, that shall be feasted upon in Week 1.

And of couse Mike Mintz, who lost his great parking spot to bring us all food.

Brown and Hemrick, you guys were there too.  Thanks for that.

I had a great time and I trust the rest of you did too.  All the rosters are up, so feel free to stare at them for the next 8 days in anticipation.

Sandwich Fest Round 1 Mock

I feel like the night before our actual draft is a good day for a mock draft.  I’ve done only the first round, because it would take too long to do more, but I paid careful attention to tendencies I’ve noticed from you guys over the past four years and coupled that with what the experts are saying this year to form what I think is an accurate forecast.  Will be fun to see how much I get right.

Round 1
1. Bry – RGIII – Bry tries to atone for the trade that cost him his season last year.  He wastes no time.

2. Scott – Chris Johnson – Why wonder if he’ll be there in round 2 when you can get him in round 1?

3. Brown – Ryan Braun – a little unorthodox (or is he Orthodox?) but there’s no Jewish football players, so Brown goes off the board here.

4. Ferencz – Tim Tebow – in a search for answers in life, Joe turns to the Jesus reincarnate.

5. Hill – Eli Manning – after reading the Throwback Thursday, Hill feels the need to once again dedicate himself to the New York Football Giants.

6. Hemrick – Cecil Shorts - this one was tough because Hemrick hates everyone, but he read in the skinny that Shorts was a flame in Week 1 and didn’t want to miss out.

7. Mintz – Ruben Randle - Spurned on his coveted Eli Manning, Mintz decides to break some hearts and stay true to his Giants roots and takes Randle.

8. Sean/Matt – Mike Williams Tampa Bay – Matt: “I like Doug Martin here.”  Sean: “If we’re going to take a Buc (which we have to do), let’s take Michael Clayton" /points to the name on the back of his jersey.  Matt: “He retired in 2007.”  Sean: “Well who’s the new Michael Clayton?”  Matt: “Mike Williams?”  Sean: “WE’LL TAKE MIKE WILLIAMS!”  Matt: /facepalm

9. Commish – Adrian Peterson – Improbably the best player on the board falls to me at 9.  I’m torn here between AP and Aaron Rodgers, or maybe Megatron, but I’ll go with Peterson.

10. James – BenJarvis Green-Ellis – James arrives at the 8:30 draft at 8:45 without any paperwork.  Panicked, he blurts out the only thing he can remember, a catchy nickname, “The Law Firm!” he shouts.  Then whispers “is he good?”

Throwback Thursday | CHRIS HILL: FAKE GIANTS FAN

You guys may remember from the Week 6 Recap that I questioned Chris Hill's Giants fanhood since he scored a large portion of his points at the expense of his so-called "favorite team."  On the heels of that development comes the scathing allegation that Mr. Hill is actively trying to trade for a certain member of the Cardinals wide receiver corps.  So how much faith does Mr. Hill have in the Giants defense I ask you?  Is this a move a true Giants fan would pull?  I can tell you this receiver is not one of their top 2 and this is very much a matchup deal for this week.  Chris Hill: fake Giants fan.

actually Paul....he more then likely will be a top 2 this week because Boldin has a bum ankle and may not play and if so limited... so yes i was making a move on an offense that puts up a ton of yards in the air w. a player who may see alot more activity depending on the severity of Boldins ankle and if it will be lingering.

Secondly... ...what happens in trade talk should not be spread throughout the league!

To further reinforce this point Paul, is that he says things like "we played well" and "we were super bowl champions". BUT I've never heard him say "we blew it" or "we suck". Those statements usually involve the word "they". Just as a point of reference. Fake fan confirmed.

you forgot something:
actually Paul....he more then likely will be a top 2 this week because Boldin has a bum ankle and may not play and if so limited... so yes i was making a move on an offense that puts up a ton of yards in the air w. a player who may see alot more activity depending on the severity of Boldins ankle and if it will be lingering....AT THE EXPENSE OF MY 'FAVORITE' TEAM.

I'm highly disappointed.

And Hill, sometimes those trade rumors leak and there's nothing you can do about it.  If a rumor gets out it should be reported.

haha, to be honest i had thought trade proposals could be seen by everyone in league. but i guess its only pending trades.

after the recap and the irony though i thought it was worth bringing up.

I can only go by the evidence that has been presented thus far.

Guys, there is a 10 minute mockumentary on Keith Hernandez and his moustache. It has a narrator and basically makes him appear to be the king of the world. Sleeping with hot hoes and blowing coke. Anyone see this and know where I can find it?
